Here are the highlights of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, ratified by a solid majority of the membership in online balloting, July 15-17.

1.  Wages/Salaries Increase:

    • Effective July 1, 2019: 3.25%.   IN ADDITION:  Any member who will be making less than $22.27 per hour after the 3.25% increase will receive an additional 1%.

    • Effective July 1, 2020: 2.75%

    • Effective July 1, 2021: 2.25%

2.  Information Technology Staff: The Federation withdrew their proposal to exclude the IT staff from union representation.

3.  Extended Leave Rights for Senior employees (+3 years): The Employers accepted our compromise proposal to lower the period to 11 months for employees to take extended leave and maintain their jobs. Their original proposal was to cut this to just 6 months.

4. Hospital and Medical Insurance:

    • 2019-20: Employers will cover entire amount of “carrier imposed premium Increase.”  No increases in current premiums for employee-only coverage for medical, dental or vision insurance.

    • 2020-21 and 2021-22: Employer share of premiums increase up to cap of 5% per year.

5.  Early Swipe-in: New provision to allow up to 10 minutes to swipe or clock in early.

6.  Remote Work, Turn-Around Time, and Paid Parental Leave: We were not able to make improvements in these areas in this Tentative Agreement despite consistent advocacy by the Bargaining Team for the Employers to embrace a more flexible and family-friendly workplace.

7.  Federation Fundraiser Salary Increases: The fundraisers from Donor Relations won the right to be included in the guaranteed union-negotiated increases after they showed that the prior "Incentive Pay Plan" was not working to provide fair salary increases.
